Masuma has expanded its transmission parts lineup with new Center Support Bearings (also known as Hanger Bearings) for propeller shafts.
A center support bearing ensures proper support and stable rotation of the driveshaft in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive vehicles. Its main functions are to securely fix the intermediate section of the shaft, absorb vibrations, and compensate for axial displacements when transmitting torque from the gearbox to the drive axle.
Key Features of Masuma Hanger Bearings
Masuma center support bearings are designed to precisely match OEM geometry, making installation straightforward and ensuring reliable operation. High-quality materials are used in production:
- Inner and outer bearing rings are manufactured from GCr15 steel, known for its hardness, wear resistance, and dimensional stability under prolonged loads.
- The bearing housing is made of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy or ST12 steel, depending on the application. 6061-T6 offers light weight combined with high strength, while ST12 provides additional rigidity for heavy-duty conditions.
- The seal ring, made from NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber), effectively protects the bearing from dust, dirt, and moisture, while maintaining elasticity even at low temperatures.
- The elastic damping sleeve is produced from natural rubber (NR), which provides excellent vibration absorption and resistance to aging.
Masuma’s range of hanger bearings already includes over 40 models with inner diameters from 25 to 50 mm. Use the Masuma Parts Finder to check availability for your vehicle.
