Masuma expands its product lineup with electric pumps (water pumps) for the cooling systems of internal combustion engines (ICE) and inverters in hybrid vehicles.
Dual Cooling Systems in Hybrids
Hybrid powertrains typically feature two independent cooling systems:
- Internal Combustion Engine Cooling
- Inverter Cooling
An electric water pump circulates coolant within the inverter cooling loop, operating even when the engine is off. In modern hybrids, electric pumps have also replaced traditional mechanical pumps in ICE cooling systems.
Common Failures and Their Impact
Pump failure is one of the most frequent issues in hybrid vehicles, often leading to large-scale service campaigns and recalls. If an electric pump fails, the powertrain enters a low-power emergency mode, and a warning appears on the dashboard. Prompt replacement of a faulty pump is critical to prevent overheating of the hybrid system, engine damage, or inverter burnout.
MASUMA ELECTRIC PUMPS FOR ICE AND INVERTER COOLING SYSTEMS
Masuma electric pumps feature a modern brushless design identical to OEM components. All pump parameters (operating voltage and current, power, and performance) match factory specifications, ensuring stable thermal management of the hybrid powertrain.
