Ball Joint Pin
Ball joint pin is the load-bearing part of the joint, it is made of the durable structural 45X alloy steel. Its surface is smooth, so the friction between the ball and the polymer liner is the least possible. This prevents the swivel wearing.
Polymer Liner
The ball joint swivel uses a wear-proof polymer liner made of the POM 500P polymer by DuPont. This polymer has a smooth glossy surface and is notable for its extra durability and stability of its size. The well-designed liner ensures the supply of lubricant to all friction areas.
Elastic Dust Boot
The rubber dust boot keeps its elasticity at temperatures from -40 to +80 °C. The dust boot features a special multi-rib stuffing box integrated, which improves the better lubrication removal, reliability at extreme angles, and better protection from water and impurities ingress. If necessary, the dust boot can be replaced separately, the Masuma range contains dust boots for all the ball joints series.
Strong Thread
The threaded part of the ball pin has a strength class of 10.9 and higher, the edging of the thread is smooth and even. The kit contains a cotter pin to fix the nut.
High-quality Lubricant
During the production process of the ball joint its swivel joint is filled with the high-viscosity Apolloil Autolex С lithium grease, which reduces the friction from the ball pin work. A lubricant which seals the swivel is also applied under the dust boot of the joint. The additional lubricant is not needed during the installation of a new ball joint.
Ball joints from each batch are tested for rupture, resistance moments and swing angles of pins, as well as salt mist tests for 72 hours to confirm corrosion resistance. Automation of the production process and strict quality control guarantee reliability and long-term operation of Masuma ball joints.
